Description The Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) advises the President on how science and technology affect domestic and international affairs. The office was created in 1976 as part of the National Science and Technology Policy, Organization, and Priorities Act to develop science and technology policies alongside government agencies, private organizations, higher education institutions, and other nations. The office also monitors federal investments in science and technology programs. The OSTP director serves as the science advisor to the President.
