Description To OrSense, it makes perfect sense. Take the painful pinprick out of blood testing and patients are more likely to better manage their health. The company makes non-invasive medical monitoring equipment, based on a technology called Occlusion Spectroscopy, that measures levels of blood glucose and hemoglobin via a ring-shaped cuff, which generates a readable transmission signal when placed on the finger. Patients can self-test with OrSense's devices, which are useful for anemia screening and diabetes monitoring. Biophysicist and company CTO Ilya Fine founded OrSense in 1996 after inventing its core technology. Leading investors include STAR Ventures and Israel Health Care Ventures.
