Performance Technologies (PT) contributes to communications convergence. The company makes networking equipment used to integrate traditional telephone and Internet protocol (IP) data networks. Its products include gateways, routers, and embedded IP switches designed for carrier-grade telecommunication providers. PT also sells related adapters and software. Most of its sales come from equipment manufacturers and systems integrators; it also sells products through distributors. The company's 125-plus customers include Alcatel-Lucent, Leap Wireless/Cricket, Raytheon, and Metaswitch Networks. Recently rebranded as PT, the company gets more than half of its sales outside the US.
