Description PrairieCare has been providing specialized psychiatric services for all ages in the Twin Cities since 2005. Initially providing care as the Twin Cities extension of Prairie St. John’s in Fargo, PrairieCare and PrairieCare Medical Group were founded in 2009 by Stephen R. Setterberg, MD. The organization grew from a dozen employees providing outpatient care to a few hundred patients a year, to now one of the region’s largest and premier psychiatric providers.
PrairieCare is a privately-owned clinician led organization providing partial hospital program (PHP) and inpatient services to the Twin Cities metro area, while PrairieCare Medical Group also privately-owned provides outpatient clinic and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) in the Twin Cities and Rochester, MN. Both organizations have thrived from agency collaboration and by remaining agile and adaptive in responding to the mental health needs of the community. PrairieCare employs over 700 staff, with PrairieCare Medical Group consisting of nearly 200 clinicians including child and adult psychiatrists, advance practice nurses, occupational therapists, play therapists, psychologists, neuropsychologists and more! PrairieCare inpatient and partial hospital programs earned Joint Commission accreditation in 2011. PrairieCare and PrairieCare Medical Group’s growth has been fueled by the demand for services and reputation for high quality and individualized care.
