Retractable Technologies knows you can't be too safe when you work around needles all day. The company develops, makes, and markets safety syringes and other injection technologies for the health care industry. Its flagship VanishPoint syringe retracts after injection, reducing the risk of both syringe reuse and accidental needlesticks (both are means of transmitting HIV and other infectious diseases). Retractable Technologies also makes blood collection needles and IV catheters using the VanishPoint technology, which was invented by the company's founder, CEO, and majority owner Thomas Shaw. The firm sells to hospitals and other care providers in the US and abroad, both directly and through distributors.
