Strategic Diagnostics, which does business as SDIX, makes immunoassay-based test kits for the agricultural, water quality, and food safety markets. SDIX's tests detect environmental contaminants, pesticides, genetic modification, chemicals in drinking water and industrial processes, and food-borne pathogens (such as E. coli and salmonella). The company also produces antibodies and reagents for medical diagnosis and pharmaceutical research applications. The company has forged research partnerships with companies such as McDonald's, Monsanto, and Johnson & Johnson. About three-quarters of SDIX's sales come from US customers.
