Family-owned and operated since 1973, SPEC Building Materials Corporation was founded on the principles of providing the highest quality building materials and competitive pricing for commercial and residential construction. With its roots in Kansas City, Missouri, Mel Stevenson proudly opened the SPEC doors as an equipment and supply business for the roofing industry. Today SPEC has grown to include a network of thirty-six convenient branches, located in strategic markets throughout the United States. Each with a collection of trusted vendors who have been carefully selected by the market demand and the superior products they represent. The associates at each SPEC branch location are also carefully chosen and trained with relevant skill sets and proficiencies in all phases of the industry. They share a responsibility to assist all customers by providing; superior service, quality construction products and materials, competitive pricing, on-time delivery and find suitable personal lending solutions for their projects. The SPEC name is on all our products, but more importantly, the SPEC associates are dedicated to a commitment of hard work, integrity and respect; which is our way of thanking every customer for their trust and their loyalty.
