SWX Europe (formerly virt-x) is an electronic communications network (ECN) providing cross-border trading of primarily Swiss blue-chip securities as well as other European stocks and exchange-traded funds. It also provides trade and transaction reporting. Swiss electronic exchange SWX Group founded virt-x in 2000 and gained full control (owners included Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, and J.P. Morgan Chase) three years later.
