San Diego Daily Transcript publishes The Daily Transcript, a daily business newspaper covering the San Diego metropolitan area. San Diego Daily Transcript also operates the Sand Diego Source, a paid subscription Web site offering local business news and information. The Daily Transcript was started in 1882 as the National City Record. The Revelle family, led by William Revelle, has controlled San Diego Daily Transcript through their holding company CALCOMCO since 1986. The late Ellen C. Revelle was grandniece of E. W. Scripps, namesake of The E. W. Scripps newspaper empire.
