The company's Web-based instructional management software is used to analyze and manage school data such as curriculum, test results, and state and local accountability standards. Serving K-12 schools, it also offers software that gives teachers, students, and parents access to information about such topics as schedules, extracurricular events, cafeteria menus, homework assignments. Founded in 1998, SchoolNet received venture funding from Ascend Venture Group, The Princeton Review, Alley Capital, and Quad Ventures, prior to its acquisition in 2011 by educational publisher Pearson for $230 million.
