Its products, which employ Global Positioning System (GPS) data, allow manufacturers to add navigation and mapping, lost person location, and fleet vehicle tracking functions into their own wireless devices. Contract electronics manufacturer Elcoteq, Garmin, and Taiwan's Promate Electronic are among the company's leading customers. Those in the Asia/Pacific region contribute nearly two-thirds of SiRF's sales. In early 2009 the company agreed to merge with Bluetooth expert CSR plc, which will form a market leader in connectivity and location technologies.
