Sibelius the composer would have liked to have gotten his hands on Sibelius the software. Sibelius Software produces music notation software (Sibelius), aural training software (Auralia), and other related applications, catering to the professional, educational, and consumer markets in more than 100 countries. The company operates out of offices in Australia, the UK, and the US. Sibelius Software was founded in 1993 by twin brothers, Ben and Jonathan Finn, who are both composers, musicians, and computer programmers. Sibelius was acquired by music software leader Avid Technology for $23 million in cash in 2006.
