Description Spring Hill College is a private Catholic university with about 1,500 students. The college offers degree programs in such subjects as commercial arts, nursing, philosophy, political science, and education. In order to keep up with a growing student population Spring Hill is expanding its campus by building a new library, a welcome center and student center. Students of all religions are accepted for enrollment by Spring Hill College. The school offers adult programs in theology and ministry not only on its Mobile campus, but also in Jackson, Mississippi; Birmingham; and Atlanta. Spring Hill College was founded in 1830 by Michael Portier, the first bishop of Mobile, Alabama.
