Want to invest in some life insurance policies? You might check out the market at The TEP Exchange. TEP provides an online exchange platform for traded endowment policies (TEPs), or life insurance policies that have been sold to a new owner. TEPs are UK-based investment products similar to US-based traded life policies, or TLPs. They are typically policies for elderly individuals (as opposed to viatical settlements, which are traded policies for individuals with terminal illnesses). The insured individual may sell their policy in order to enjoy a bulk payment, as well as to avoid paying any further premiums. The TEP Exchange facilitates the trading of TEPs, but does not buy or sell endowments.
