TeleSciences is taking an ax to phone companies' traffic woes. The company furnishes billing, fraud, and traffic management software for telecommunications providers worldwide. Its Sterling product line collects, processes, and transmits data from telecom switches to clients' data management networks for billing purposes; it also includes fraud detection and management software. Formerly the US subsidiary of Norwegian company EDB Telesciences, the telecom and networking software arm of EDB Business Partner ASA, the company was sold to its US-based management team in 2005. TeleSciences is now a subsidiary of Ariston Global, L.L.C.
