It primarily provides services that include consulting, systems integration, and data center management to the energy and transportation sectors. Telvent GIT also serves such industries as agriculture and environmental services. The company, with more than half of its business outside Europe, provides its services worldwide. Clients have included the City of Monterrey, Mexico, and Vattenfall. Subsidiary Telvent DTN provides market prices, weather data, and farming news to the agriculture industry in North America. The company was acquired by Schneider Electric in 2011 for about E1.4 billion ($2 billion).
