Unitech Battery manufactures and markets rechargeable lithium ion, lithium polymer, nickel cadmium, and nickel metal hydride batteries used in mobile phones, cordless phones, power tools, radio-controlled toys, medical equipment, emergency lighting, and bar code scanners. It also makes chargers for its batteries. Unitech produces some 600,000 pieces a day, including 350,000 Ni-MH batteries, 230,000 Ni-CD batteries, and 20,000 Li-ion/Li-polymer batteries, along with 1,500 chargers. The company has offices, manufacturing facilities, and research centers in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen. Unitech Battery started making batteries and chargers in 1999.
