Universal Health Realty Income Trust (UHT) is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that primarily invests in health care related facilities. The REIT owns more than 45 facilities in 14 states, including acute care, rehabilitation, medical office, childcare centers, and psychiatric hospitals. McAllen Medical Center in Texas is UHT's largest facility. Many properties are owned through limited liability companies in which the trust holds an equity interest. UHT's six hospital facilities hold about 1,000 beds total. Subsidiaries of Universal Health Services (founded by UHT CEO Alan Miller) lease most of the trust's hospitals and generally provide their own maintenance and renovation services for those properties.
