If you need to get around Finland then you'll probably hitch a ride from the VR-Group. The transport and logistics services group primarily operates a commuter line in Helsinki, but also provides long-distance passenger services and freight shipping (together representing about 50% of revenues). The company restructured its operations in 2009 to include Passenger Services (rail/bus/coach services, restaurant/catering services), Logistics (freight transport), Corporate Services (divisional support), VR-Track (track construction/maintenance), and Russian and International Business (telecommunications, European business). VR-Group was incorporated in 1995 and is owned entirely by the Finnish government.
