John Wainwright and Co sticks to the surface of the road-paving business. The company supplies aggregates and asphalt to construction companies in the UK. Its three main products are roadstone (a crushed basalt mixture used as the top layer of the road surface), surface dressing chippings, and coated materials that offer skid resistance when vehicle tires come in contact with the pavement. John Wainwright extracts rocks and raw materials from the Moons Hill and Stoke quarries. Founded in 1902 by John Wainwright and John Luff, the company remains family-owned.
