Online brokerage firms, banks, retailers, government agencies, and Internet service providers use nCipher's hardware and software to increase the speed and security of online transactions. Its products include server crypto-accelerators, PKI security modules, and related software. nCipher, which sells its products directly and through resellers and systems integrators, counts Citigroup, Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the US Navy among its customers. nCipher agreed to be acquired by aerospace and defense giant Thales UK in 2008.
