Pros

Used to be a cool place 5 years ago

Cons

Employees are required to use their personal computers for work. No other "tech" company does this. This is a media company that lives in the past. Benefits are awful, with a PTO policy that forces employees to use their personal days for most national holidays and has months of blackouts. No perks. European employees receive significantly lower compensation compared to their US counterparts. In particular, they are exploiting Ukrainians needing work right now. Some department managers exhibit unprofessional, hypocritical, and unethical behavior. Employees have been unexpectedly let go despite receiving positive performance reviews and feedback. No growth opportunities - the performance review system is useless. Unrealistic expectations set by leadership have resulted in excessive crunch time. Ian's family, due to their wealth and connections, has a significant influence on business decisions, attending meetings and offsite events, raising concerns about conflicts of interest. His family controls the C-suite and the board. Virtually entirely white-male.

Pros

if you're in the US you will get an okay salary one of the few studios that are strictly remote project is fun to play. no idea how it might perform or how long it will live for after release

Cons

they ask you to use your personal computer they offer really poor benefits. theyre idea of an improved PTO policy is you not getting to enjoy most national holidays unless you eat into your PTO days european counterparts are paid unfairly compared to US some department managers are terribly unprofessional, hypocritical and unethical they unexpectedly will let go of employees despite positive performance and feedback pointless performance review system there is an unrealistic expectation being set by the top that is leading to an excessive amount of crunch. Ian's family is heavily involved in the business decisions because his father is a cofounder of Intuit. billion dollar family so maybe that is a positive to some. they will be there in meetings, at the annual offsite, and seem to have a large influence with day to day operations. conflict of interest? no annual raises or bonuses. the first time they gave company raises was this year and it was not much. lots of very visible favoritism. especially in the design department a very male-heavy studio. lack of diversity in management.

Pros

Strong, motivated artists who will inspire your work.

Cons

Familyrun business where the ceo or the leads dont care for their employees, and will cut you off for the smallest inconveniences. People are VERY cliquey, and is not a environment you feel you can grow. Forget about an HR department, that doesnt exist so any concerns you have go into the void, or you will be immediately fired for them.
