Pros

Cool office space. Dog friendly. Bowling alley, games like air hockey and pickle ball, and a bar that is almost always open. Decent parties and can use the office for personal events. Free pop and often free food. Some friendly people. Chill environment with flexible hours. Overall fairly low stress work. Unlimited PTO. Pretty good pay for entry level

Cons

Large lay offs and choosing to let go senior employees over new ones, some who had been there for 10+ years. Poor communication. Shame around using unlimited PTO. Expensive insurance. Some people are not friendly at all and ignore you. Bowling and parties are distracting when trying to work. Occasional drama. Repetitive and sometimes boring work. CEO is a bit arrogant and changed entire structure of company then changed it back a few months later. Clients were sometimes annoying with feedback and jobs were always rushed with little time to plan. Super into AI. Been trying to sell their office space forever but they are still there

Good opportunity for foundational trauma

Pros

client exposure, some good people, and a chance to see just how much you can take before you fall apart.

Cons

Pay is tragically low, hours are terrible, time off comes with social punishment, management is disorganized and very boys club mentality with some inappropriate behavior that isn't ever addressed.

Pros

interesting projects, cool clients for the resume/portfolio

Cons

This company is the perfect example of overselling what's on the box. You are promised work life balance, great team and culture, exciting work, but all of it is a lie. Insurance is priced atrociously high (over $500 per paycheck for insurance with a family!). They advertise unlimited PTO but when you use any time you will instantly fall behind and get shunned by management. They advertised work from home but continuously bullied us into the office. Leadership is incredibly incompetent and the CEO restructures the company every 6 months. They are doing a hard AI push right now, but it's slowing EVERYTHING down. They laid off people every single year and last year they even laid off 20 people! And all of that work fell to us with no chance of getting a bonus or raise to "compensate" for the loss of hands. They take advantage of the fact that people are struggling and offer below market rates. One year for Halloween the CEO dressed up as a "unscoped project" to make fun of the fact that he continuously pushed the sales team to sell without defining what was being sold. It felt like a slap to the face to us that worked over 60 hours a week getting these things built. The team trauma bonding is very strong so you get close to everyone really fast but all we talk about is how much the work sucks. Our best team members are quitting left and right. I'm glad I got out, but feel bad for leaving friends behind.
