Outsized expectations...

Pros

Though telecommuting for the length of my engagement, trips to the office were pleasant enough and congenial, as the staff are friendly. I think the value proposition is a decent one.

Cons

Senior Management had little concept of the sales cycle entering a new vertical market. Management style was mixed, with the CEO and COO (a married couple) having very different, and hence confusing ways of overseeing this employee. I didn't appreciate being made the scapegoat for their lack of foresight.

Dishonest and Passive/Agressive Environment

Pros

In theory, 3BLMedia is doing good work helping companies do good in the world. About 50% of the employees understand this and seem to actually care.

Cons

Non-transparent and hypocritical management that behaves like a clique. Does not reward independent thinking or criticism. The aforementioned married couple running the show will act like they are listening and trying to involve the company in decisions then will go behind closed doors and make completely different decisions. If you are a remote worker, you are particularly screwed. Very poor pay as well, core product is garbage.

Pros

Account management team (erroneously called media consultants - causes confusion with clients because they think that role entails reaching out to media outlets) were amazing team players. Management was, almost always, very good with hiring amazing people with outstanding talent and a variety of skills. Location of the office was great if you enjoy Northampton, MA.

Cons

Because they hired great people, those left faster once they realized the culture in the office. CEO and COO (married couple that do not “leave things at the door”) are very good at selling you the job and later making you feel like ideas and opinions count - when this is not the case. They do not have experience in many of the areas they supervise/manage and it shows. Additionally, another review mentioned getting any agreement or conversation in writing - this is of the outmost importance since they change their minds about how they feel about you daily - they make decisions regarding your job/position based on how much they like you instead of appropriately measuring performance.
