Pros

- Good, easy going management that is very reasonable when it comes to personal accommodations; talented co-workers, fun atmosphere, and of course the memes on Slack. Working here feels more like being among friends than anything else which makes it comfortable to talk and interact with others. - I've been here for almost 5 years and I have not experienced any of the negative issues others have posted in their (outgoing) reviews here on Glassdoor. I can say with absolute confidence that working with people here has been easy and friendly. I am always allowed to voice my opinions without any fear of repercussions from management, even if it's not exactly what they want to hear. I'm not shy so I will let them know what I do and do not like and I've never experienced a problem because of it. I never got the feeling of management or others 'playing favorites' here. - There's a culture of being open and honest at 4Insite. Management is always open to talk and listen. People here are generally nice; and with me being the company's Cat, I'm probably as grumpy as anyone gets here, but only because my brain doesn't wake up until around lunch time. Like any other place, there are good and bad days, sometimes the pressure is on, but most times it's actually pretty mellow. Regardless, in the end we get the job done and we all celebrate the win as a team. - Marie is really good about rewarding us on a job well done, from letting us off early on a Friday, to fun company events I never attend because I'm not a very social Cat. All the others in SLT are cool people too. - We got the Dopest Design Team. - Pretty good medical benefits. - Got rid of Menti. - There's a Wienerschnitzel down the street. - Raider Nation is well represented.

Cons

These are very subjective from my point of view and in no way reduces the good experience I have at 4Insite: - While we are often rewarded with good things for doing a good job (more often than not), there is also a flip side to it: One moment we're told we're doing a great job, only to be rewarded with more ways of being micromanaged. It sends a mixed message and creates some anxiety. Perhaps the communication on this isn't great, but that's what it looks and feels like. - This company sees itself as a "start-up" and it's been over 4-years now that I've been here and it's still acting like a start-up, often used as the excuse as to why it becomes spontaneously chaotic at times. Maybe it's time to transcend into a higher plane of existence? - We still do stand-ups which are not helpful at this point. We already have a completed product — launched and in use — and no longer have a need for this outdated method of product building. - Doing daily stand-ups to answer the SAME THREE QUESTIONS every single morning is tedious and agitating because nothing really changes day to day. It pulls me out of *the zone* when I am coding, and I have to sit there and listen to people talk about things not related to what I am working on until the whole thing is over. I wish we were trusted to actually complete our tasks without a daily reminder we're being micromanaged, after all we use a task management system to keep track of tickets and what work is being done, and daily stand-ups are just repeating what's already posted in our tickets. Very redundant. - Work tickets have become less and less clear (and useful) over the past year, now about the size of a Tweet, and we're still expected to produce results in a timely manner. Most of my time now is just spent going back and forth with the Scrum Lords on what the ticket even means, only to later discover that there is no bug to be fixed, or that someone didn't know how to use a feature and assumed it was a bug, or that the bug exists in a totally different stack. - Switched from JIRA to the vastly inferior Shortcrud. >:( - Too many Cowboys and 49ers fans.

Pros

An interesting product that serves its target market well. Solid potential for growth in the future.

Cons

A product-focused company, as a result, culture and other areas of the business suffer. An uninspiring place to work with sub-par leadership driving the ship.

Really great staff of people

Cons

Management doesn’t care about your well being. If you are a professional who cares about growth and stability, RUN AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN FROM THIS PLACE.
