Pros

✅ Career Growth & Trust: I started as a Customer Success Manager (CSM), and within three months, I was promoted to Accounts Receivable Specialist. By 2024, I became a Payroll Accountant because of the trust and confidence the company placed in me. ✅ Employee Development: Despite having minimal knowledge in accounting, 55KNOTS provided me with training and even enrolled me in a paid program to strengthen my skills in accounting and payroll—a rare and valuable opportunity. ✅ Supportive Leadership: The founder and country head are approachable, considerate, and easy to communicate with, making the work environment positive and motivating. ✅ Great Work Culture: I have no issues with my co-workers—everyone is professional, collaborative, and easy to work with. The company fosters a healthy and supportive work environment. ✅ Recognition & Opportunities: 55KNOTS acknowledges hard work and provides opportunities for career advancement, which keeps employees motivated and engaged.

Cons

🤝 High Expectations = More Growth: The company places a lot of trust in its employees, which means you are expected to grow and take on new challenges—but this also accelerates your career development. 📚 Continuous Learning: With the company investing in training, there’s a strong focus on upskilling—which is great but also requires commitment and adaptability to keep up with industry standards. 🏆 Responsibility Comes with Trust: Being given bigger roles like Accounts Receivable Specialist and Payroll Accountant means increased responsibility, but it also shows how much the company values and believes in its employees.

Cons

If you care about your mental health and job stability, I strongly advise against working for this company. The workplace culture is highly toxic, and many employees suffer due to unethical management practices. Toxic Leadership and Unfair Termination The country head fosters a poisonous work environment, making it incredibly stressful for employees. Even if you consistently meet or exceed your key performance indicators (KPIs), they will still find a way to terminate you without valid reasons. Management appears to have a pattern of pushing employees out, regardless of their contributions to the company. Broken Promises and Salary Manipulation One of the most frustrating aspects of working here is their habit of making empty promises. Employees are frequently told they will receive a salary increase upon achieving specific performance metrics. However, when the time comes, management either claims they never made such promises or finds loopholes to avoid granting the raise. Even if you have written proof of these agreements, they will try to manipulate the situation, finding alternative ways to deny what was promised. Independent Contractor Scheme to Avoid Legal Responsibilities The company pressures employees to sign independent contractor agreements, but in reality, they are treated as full-time employees. This is a deliberate tactic to avoid paying government-mandated benefits such as healthcare, social security, and other employee protections required by labor laws. They benefit from your work as if you were a regular employee, but they refuse to provide the legal protections and benefits that come with full-time employment. Withholding Final Pay Another major red flag is their unethical handling of final pay. Employees who leave—whether voluntarily or due to unfair termination—often do not receive their last paycheck. This lack of professionalism and respect for workers further highlights their exploitative practices. Final Verdict: Stay Away This company does not value its employees and engages in unethical practices that can severely impact your financial stability and mental well-being. If you are considering applying, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for an employer that respects and values its workforce. There are better opportunities with companies that treat their employees fairly and honor their commitments.
