Pros

Free food in-office. Good benefits. Unlimited PTO.

Cons

The company is currently operating under the loudest people get attention and if you're friends with the right people in charge, you're golden. There is a person who walks around loudly and behaves like the queen of the Austin office, and is completely rude to anyone who is not in their circle. Executives see this behavior and don't say anything about it, even when witnessing them making their direct reports cry. It's truly disgusting that it feels like sorority behavior. Nothing about this is professional and it's sad to see good, hard-workers have to put up with this.

Pros

Fully paid benefits, FTO, paid subscriptions, direct co-workers are nice

Cons

We lost several amazing coworkers early this year under the guise of better positioning the company. However, there’s been a plethora of newly created higher up roles that did not exist before. Several of these new roles have been filled by the CMOs colleagues. I'm not sure how this isn't nepotism. Regarding actual work, you will feel start to feel like a machine and not a person. Very few people will ask you for your input, respect your time, or even get to know you. You will just be told what to do and when to do it. You should also expect project changes on the drop of a dime making the work you just did obsolete. They won’t explain why, won’t apologize for the rush, or even acknowledge how it affects you. Let’s also not forget how they backtracked on their offer of remote work for the people in Austin who were hired after 2020. But somehow the people who were brought on during the acquisition in different time zones and states are still capable of doing fully remote work. How do you even begin to rationalize that.

Pros

People are warm and welcoming. Always willing to lend a hand. Direct management is good. Good benefits package. Most people really want to do a good job.

Cons

The company values have really changed. It’s no longer the Affinipay way. Now it’s all about the bottom line. Executive team hides behind the curtain and pops up occasionally with the standard corporate jargon and then drones on about how perfect everything is while the employees roll their eyes. CEO is definitely out of touch with her employees and with people in general. Elitist and trying to be cool. People see through it.

Thank you for the feedback. We strive to take all feedback and learn from it which is why we offer so many opportunities for our staff to communicate with us on how we can improve - whether it's anonymously through various staff surveys, via our suggestion box, or with our CEO roundtables. As you know, AffiniPay is a rapidly growing company and while our values have stayed consistent, we recognize that in order to continue our path of significant growth we must sometimes change our priorities to do what is best for the organization. We understand that AffiniPay looks/feels a bit different now, but are excited for this next chapter we will encounter as one team!
