A Dysfunctional Family

Pros

Flight benefits....maybe. You get very limited time off so using them is a bit of a lottery draw.

Cons

The people. The company goes around and boasts how they are like a family...a dysfunctional family maybe? Unless you are a manager or higher and in the inner circle the do not give me breaths about you. I went to my superiors more times than I can count at this point to address the concerns I had with people not doing their work, people pawning off work on others, doing things the obsolete way, presenting ideas about how to increase work productivity and worker morale. They listened very intently (watch out for this, they make it seem like they care but won't do anything about it after the meeting) and said they would see what they can do. That translates into 'I don't care as it does not affect my job or my salary'. Then they hold meetings addressing how they can improve but seem to fail to mention any of the methods that you had presented. This happened over and over and over again. The workplace is toxic and full of lazy entitled people who will retire there with 15+ years under their belt. I mean I guess you can't blame them for milking the cow dry but if you are looking for a good opportunity please consider elsewhere. I also believe that HR is leaving false reviews on this site to make the bad ones seem not so bad. PLEASE PLEASE do your homework before you accept a position here.

Pros

You have the hope of one day transferring over to AA as an internal candidate, sponsorship from AA which includes benefits that an AA employee receives: health, 401k, flight benefits. Good stepping stone if you're wanting access to AA the airline.

Cons

As the new AA moves forward the credit union stays behind with its rigid culture. Chances of promotions are slim since there isn't much movement in upper positions. Requires a one year commitment in any position you accept (something AA did away with). Pay is mediocre and it seems they feel they can get away with it because of the sponsored benefits received from AA. 2 week vacation, since each department goes off seniority do not expect a favorable outcome as a newbie; also because the credit union is a financial institution you have to take a mandatory week off (the week you're required to take off is used from your allotted vacation). Cannot really use flight benefits because you can end up getting stuck trying to come back home and if you don't show up to work because you got stuck there is serious consequences. Attendance policy is horrible and not flexible, if you get sick it is considered an occurrence.

Pros

Potential Flight Benefits if you ever get time off , friendly members & coworkers, Chance to meet top airport officials,

Cons

The Branch Manager was bipolar! She turned on a dime. You never knew what her mood would be. Actually timed bathroom breaks!! ladies do have special needs every month...hello. Such a negative environment. Not sure about other branches but pay was lousy as well.
