Pros

Benefits package is good, coworkers are great

Cons

It really stinks to write this, because just a few months ago it was a completely different place to work. I used to love my job, and wanted to succeed not only for my own benefit, but to make my managers look good because they were awesome. Now that couldn't be further from the truth. They drove out the amazing sales manager and have replaced him with the VP's neighbor who has zero life insurance experience. The VP who is calling all the shots also has no experience in the industry, and has made this place somewhere people are afraid to raise concerns for fear of retaliation. This is a ship without any captains. There are people throwing their authority around but they aren't leaders. If you have any sort of experience in life insurance, you will do far better elsewhere. This went from a place where you are treated like a human to being just a number in the span of just a few months. I have never seen morale in an organization torpedoed so quickly before.

Pros

The pay was pretty good for the position.

Cons

Management is terrible, the FP&A team is the worst team in the company. The FP&A manager doesn’t know how to do his job so he is unable to effectively train new hires. I was fired 5 months in for “performance”, not sure how you can judge performance in 5 months when you dont even know how to do your own job yourself. Meetings everyday at 8:30am dont even give you wnough time to get settled for the day. I was lied to in the interview process saying that I was being hired because the team was expanding but i was hired because they forced out the guy before me for poor performance also. The FP&A manager has had a total of 4 people work under him and three were fired or forced out the door due to poor performance and the VP is completely clueless to how bad the manager is at his job. The only person under the FP&A manager that hasnt been forced out yet was the kid they just hired a month ago. I was also told i could take a day off for PTO the onky day i requested off while being there and I was told it was fine and then they said I couldn’t take it off anymore. I went golfing anyway lol.

Pros

401k, vacation time, sick time , good training

Cons

As A travel advisor you are in a retail environment you will have walk in members that take priority.Management expects you to do everything leads , log in to take calls from cue, follow up on documents . There online trainings , meetings , sales - service like a pyramid scheme and you are at the bottom. They will never clearly define the commission structure. You will be scrutinized by members and Managment. Management focuses on your numbers and sales but they have no idea the amount of work that goes into each and every sale from start to finish. Mbrs will make changes to there itineraries. Airlines will cancel flights. Hotels are short staffed. The totally satisfied survey that goes out to each and every mbr is again not indicative of your overall performance. You will not see commissions or mabey if your lucky 1%.
