Pros
Community recognition (honourable job). Interaction and exposure to peers in other institutes. Opportunity to teach and interact with under-grad students (very rewarding).
Cons
This is a place where you will feel unjustice in every step or advancement in your career. There is a lot of unfairness in this place. Very bureaucratic and rigid management that would kill your talent and skills. Some colleugue of mine percieve it as a pension job, and that exactly is what it is.
