Incompetent management

Pros

You will learn skills that you can't find elsewhere, not in the same company. Wage is far more than the country average. Flexible office hours, good working environment. It has reputation of an extremely selective company (it really is), if you came from ADB you will find a job everywhere.

Cons

The management is incompetent and never know what to do. Products engineered in years and never sold, contracts awarded with a ridiculously close due date and never delivered in time, big paying customers lost for silly reasons, others kept as a loss. The company had an extremely skilled team, but they fired a lot of them, then the others ran away starting a brain diaspora. The managers all remained in place with a 1:1 ratio with developers, and the status of the leadership is ridiculous: there are groups of managers doing the same exact stuff and continuously plan meetings to appear doing something, there are also product (or project) managers which lost their product (or project) years ago and keep on being the manager of nothing, executive of a closed division grazing in the hallway, greetings everyone all the time

A lot of good badly managed people.

Pros

Not too bureaucratic, a lot of smart people (even after quite a few left for the greener pastures), good salary for Polish conditions, new CEO seems reasonable and does try to improve some of the problems.

Cons

Lots of politics and "us vs them" attitude between groups and offices including actively blocking other groups' work, huge amounts of time and resources wasted for rewriting software from scratch over and over again, no career path (only two distinguishable levels in engineering - engineer and expert, with no clear promotion criteria), widespread "yes sir!" culture with no respect for subordinates' opinion or private life, overtime is expected from employees ("you can't write good software in 8 hours"), a few morale-wrecking actions like quite massive lay-offs followed by "we're hiring" a month later, employees have to use pretty old and underpowered PCs and TVs, permanent cost reduction phase which makes buying even cheap tools nearly impossible.

Too much politics, "us vs. them", limited possibility for development

Pros

Great team Compensation is a little above average with ridiculously low exceptions, bonuses or raises are rare, their mechanism is fuzzy

Cons

Management (people with no managerial skills promoted to management, no idea what they are doing, no vision, no leadership) HR dept serves an admin function only, no REAL plan for people development and talent retention. High attrition blamed on poaching companies rather than internal company culture (or rather lack of it) or work environment and poor leadership. Frustrated employees are an easy prey.
