Pros

Surprisingly open-minded about remote work and other alternative work arrangements. I believe at least 3 (if not more) of the office workers have some sort of alternative work arrangement. This was true even pre-pandemic. VP says he's willing to listen to your issues, and this turns out to be true. He is very willing to hear you out and let you vent to him when you need to. I've gotten every raise I've ever asked for. Once you get used to working four 10 hour days, getting every Friday off is incredibly nice.

Cons

You must advocate for everything. You will not be offered a raise. You will not be offered a bonus. You will not be offered to have work taken off your plate. You will not be offered a fix to your obvious and well-known computer issues. You will not be offered much of anything at all. You MUST advocate for everything, and you must do it multiple times. The employees who have the best time here are the ones who are the loudest and the ones who complain the most. So, getting what you want isn't tied to work performance. It's tied to being annoying. No benefits whatsoever. I'm told there's a 401K program, but no one's ever had a meeting about it. There's a "healthshare" program, but it covers nothing and exists mostly just so they can say they "offer healthcare." Training is, essentially, does not happen. Every person I've ever spoken to has had the same story: 1-2 weeks of very hands-off "training" by someone who is really busy with their own stuff to care much about making sure you understand what is expected of you. After that, you just have to figure it all out. The turnover rate is really high, and a lot of the people who don't wind up leaving take years to get good at their jobs. There are no careers to be made here. You can have a job, but there are no ranks to climb. There is no changing departments and cross-training. The closest thing to this is when someone quits, they have to reassign duties to other people. Many people have had to pick up the slack for others like this without any extra pay or change to job title.
