      Self paced and individual contributing capabilities needed

      Pros

      More of access network technologies to work with. More to learn on First & last mile of connectivity and deployments. So much to contribute if one understands the real scope of product usage.

      Cons

      Need to be a self starter and indepedently working always. One has to put more efforts to study, daily learning for 6 months to 1 year to start delivering. Being a group member or one in a team always wait for something to come or someone to assist you what to do will be left behind always.

      Pros

      Architects and designers are looking forward to compete with other vendors in the market. Wide variety of networking products to bring business. Quite a few opportunities from Tier 1 customers across the world will make the company shine. Lot of new technologies and opportunities in the road map to learn.

      Need focus at all levels.

      Great co-workers for the most part and excellent facilities

      Cons

      Understaffed for the projects the take on which has been true for a long time now. Even with transitioning to SAFE, they still do not know how to budget time and resources. Several past 'significant efforts/strategic customers' efforts have failed and management expects development staff to pick up the extra work with very little if any yearly compensation. Very little opportunity to advance and benefits/compensation as well as yearly cost-of-living adjustments are well below the area and national averages. If you've been at Adtran for more than 5 years, you've probably reached your maximum earning potentials and it is time to find another job.
