Glacially slow advancement but good work-life balance
Pros
Bagel fridays (Free!) Commuter, gym perks and bi-annual company events A lot of well-seasoned employees keep this machine relatively well-oiled (It's easy to take that for granted) Projects abound especially in the summer. Very few perpetual ones; practical goal-setting
Cons
Bagel Fridays (Usually doughy and hard!) Micro-management. This is where drones are created from humans just from sheer micro managing Gladiator-style "put 'em down" annual performance review process Horrible location for lunch (limited to a rather subpar cafeteria) but like prison-food, you might begin to acquire a taste for it. Favoritism is the rule of the day for a select-few Wide gap between the "rulers" (management") and the "paupers" (non-management) Relatively flat organization. Hence, more lateral shuffle than vertical movements If you are dealing with other divisions, get ready for the motherload of bureaucracy and politic-ing Might be tough for new-comers. Lots of tacit knowledge; documentation is improving however. Not a lot of sides to take, be care not to fall on the wrong side. It's just too small a place There is not much of any social aspect to working here. As usual, there are small little clicks here and there
