Low wages, high caseload and poor standard of therapy

The children are gorgeous and there are some very nice ppeople within the company.

Cons

Due to the ABA structure registered allied health professionals have to operate under their umbrella and deliver a very low standard of therapy. Therapist are expected to be babysitters and act as daycare staff. Families are told their children are receiving occupational therapy but OTs are not able to conduct any standardised assessments or client centred interventions. Huge turn over and usually only staffed by new graduates. It’s essentially a very expensive daycare centre. Wages are also very low.

Creating connection with families and making huge impacts in their lives

Cons

Writing NDIS documentation for disciplines that I was not educated in. Since allied health professionals frequently changed, I was made to write documentation about areas I had no professional knowledge of, really unfair for families paying a lot for this service. Educators frequently put in dangerous situations with children, I have scars on my body from aggressive behaviour I dealt with

The people who work on the floor are kind. The children are amazing.

Cons

Company is a mess. Pay is worse than average. Therapists are underskilled and have no respect for the learning facilitators who do most of the work and are the most underpaid.
