Shauna Mei fired with cause

Pros

There might be some hope for the company now. $600,000 salary plus perks savings per year helps. Wonder which investors Shauna will fool next. Must read what poor Aussie shareholders are saying! Search for ahalife on the website hotcopper.

Cons

The cons left the company :) The worst experience. $50 million investor funds apparently already wasted. All management stock options cancelled as they both were fired with cause.

Worst Working Decision of my Career

Pros

Small perks (Breakfast on Mondays, Lunch on Wednesday, poor excuse for a happy hour on Thursdays). Great team-members. All the working B level and down employees are amazing. They will be dedicated, hard working and most of all welcoming and supportive to new employees.

Cons

This laundry list is as long as the day is bright. Leadership - The CEO and CTO are dating and make no attempts of hiding it. The lack of professionally is astounding. They are known for drinking heavily mid day and coming back to work smelling of the booze they seemingly bathed in over lunch. They are WILDLY disrespectful to their staff. I have never in my life seen a company where employees are spoken to and treating in a manor such as this. This probably speaks to the unbelievable turn over rate in this company. At times people leave without any other position lined up because this environment so so toxic. They don't know where they want this company to go and so business decisions are made on the spot based almost solely on emotion by the god-awful CEO. Product - The site may look great on the front end, but the backbone is highly flawed software. There is no eye for system or process here but they keep making attempts to expand the business. This business is SURE to collapse under its own weight and nothing they do is sustainable and the people who want to suggest sustainable solutions are often treated with contempt. Culture - The culture here is egregiously poor. As i said earlier, the CEO drives a culture of fear and disposability. They play favorites in a near disgusting and obvious way and any insinuation to that effect puts you in their crosshairs. They will fire people on pure whim but will not allow those still working there to do their jobs. They will micromanage you to death and are PURELY execution oriented with no mind at all for strategic planing. Everything the do is decided on that moment.

Pros

Employees get a discount. Catered lunch on Wednesday, drinks on thursdays. Office space in Dumbo with products around the office.

Cons

Everyone knows the positive reviews are fake and written by the CTO himself. CEO and CTO could not be more disconnected from the reality of their company. You will never be able to effectively do your job because they will fight you on everything just to do it. The only way to get by is to nod and smile despite knowing that everything they're saying is wrong. Every other day something new is "top priority," which will directly contradict what they told you the day before, but somehow they expect you to meet both. The company doesn't have enough people (only about 20) to support it's volume. CEO and CTO run the company like a sweatshop, never increasing salaries with respect to responsibilities. Over 100% turn around almost every year, and yet they don't listen to the consistent complaints from employees. Sad thing is, most of these employees are so passionate they would deal with the horrible pay, but the CEO and CTO are so appalling, everyone ends up leaving.
