Pros

sometimes there is a lot of overtime available. you don't work weekends. the shift differentials when i was there were very generous.

Cons

biggest con is the management. they micromanage everything and don't listen when you come to them with any issues or suggestions. they have their favorites. if they don't like you then you will know it and you'd better start looking for a new job because they will find things to nitpick and you will start to feel like you are in danger of losing your job (which you probably are at that point). i got a final written warning the first time i ever made a mistake, and it stayed on my record for several months. about a week later they decided that handing out final written warnings for the first offense was too harsh so they changed the rule but did not change my warning. i also saw a guy get fired for making a small mistake, and i know that the management hated him.

Pros

Benefits are nice, especially for those without spouses or children. Lots of PTO and 401k matching up to 5%.

Cons

The company appears to be trimming down. After a couple rounds of layoffs, morale dropped significantly and employees are starting to leave on their own. Having a large bank of PTO is nice, but not if you can't get approved to use it. Pay is lower than other comparable jobs. Negotiation is not very welcomed. There is very little room for advancement within the lab. The gap between management and bench-level employees is growing and the nature of lab work requires decreasingly less critical thinking skills.

Pros

The pros if any the pay was decent. Overall the lab was kept clean and was a safe place to work during the day.

Cons

Management was the worse I have ever seen. They hired a manager for specimen section she had no clue what we did made everything worse and we were told to train her but we were not good enough for the position. The rest of that place all found someone higher up to screw to get anywhere. It was a joke all around, no cared about their employees as a whole you basically were a slave
