Pros

I decided to move to Ireland for a new adventure and I must say that it's better than I imagined. I was impressed since the beginning, I got plenty of support and help before arriving to Ireland from the recruiters and the managers. I felt like they really cared and understanded me... I had lots of questions and was my first experience as a live-in carer. but they were there for me always.. Also when I arrived in Ireland everything seemed so easy and smooth. I fell in love already with the culture, the landscapes and the family!! I met them before going to Ireland thanks to the placement department and they arranged the meetings. We liked each others from the beginning... At first I was so happy because I was doing what I love to do, helping and taking care of people, in a place that is so beautiful and with super nice people!! Now I am more than happy, I am grateful for this opportunity I got from ALHomecare...

Cons

Nothing really, I love everything and they were always understanding and caring..

Pros

Learning about a new culture, history, people´s ways, including the fairy tales around the lovely Irish Celtic people. Having the possibility to gain good money and save money because all expenses are covered. When the experience goes well you create new bonds, new friends, new families. Improving the English language. Having a retirement plan.

Cons

It´s kind of a sacrifice in a way when one takes this leap of faith, leaving behind everything that one knows and not disconnecting properly at the end of the working day because you are living in. It takes a toll somehow, like the life of any emmigrant. One more reason to take all opportunities to take care of oneself with outdoors activities, connecting with people, visiting museeums, libraries, gym, walks or anything one likes to do on its regular life transforming the cons into pros.
