Pros

1. The Japanese Management can be quite demanding but those staff who are stationed in Spore office are nice, friendly and approachable – especially the current resident director. The resident director is the only management staff who would spend time walking around the office (once a day) to make conversation to all level of staff. It’s good that he listens and observes with his own eyes. 2. Anymore….?? Gosh…. I can hardly think of point no. 2…

Cons

How to survive in this company: 1. The management (excludes KWE management) practices favouritism. They like their shoes to be polished. 2. Follow the wind direction, be it right or wrong, logic or non-logic. 3. It’s ok if you don’t’ have true strength, most importantly, you must know how to talk your way through and oh yes, be a sweet talker! 4. To lie through your teeth is common in order to kill others 5. Too many “old boys & girls” from the NOL generation. These folks are too much in their comfort zone and reluctant to change for better. It’s true that APLL is a dumping ground during the split (NOL threw the unwanted staff to APLL). Others: • Screw the HR processes - There’s no professionalism practised by the team. There’s no logic for having such a big HR team. • There’s no periodic salary review by HR for talent management. • The culture is not family-friendly (what have you been doing, HR?) • BIG IT team but POOR IT systems. There’s no logic for having such a big IT team and spending so much money on IT systems/infrastructure which can be easily outsourced for cost saving. Weak IT leadership with strong favouritism culture. If you don’t follow the wind direction set by the IT leader(s), get your throat ready to be slashed. • Weak Corporate Administration Team with lack of knowledge in administration - disqualified team leader. The team members are far better off than the team leader. • High turnover rate due to the negative culture, low motivation and lack of business direction at work.

Pros

Great floor level employees that know and understand what is needed of them on a day to day bases. Most operators tend to be long tenured and dependable.

Cons

Count on working very long hours and with little to no acknowledgement. The more that you offer to do for the Senior Management team the more they will exploit that to meet their own ends.
