My experience was primarily working on the Operations team. The leadership on this team was extremely burnt out. The team was far too small and stretched too thin, leading to high stress, long hours, miscommunication, mistakes and hostility from certain OPS leaders. I was the subject of hostility from the OPS director, which only made matters worse. This team gets very overlooked by the executive team and the least support. Things may have improved since I worked there, but if interviewing for an OPS role at AREA 17, be sure to ask plenty of detailed questions, particularly about expectations, team morale, and organization of the team.
