This company started as HDG hotels, and in my opinion were much stronger than vs now that they have turned into ARK Hospitality. The culture has drastically changed. The president of the company is a former Ambridge executive who swore this wouldn't be "Ambridge 2.0" and that is exactly what it turned into. Aside from a couple of new regionals, the HDG leadership still left is the only positive component in upper management. Everything else is copycat of Ambridge Hospitality- endless reports that are all the same, third party management, and they won't put money back into distressed properties.
Nepotism exists in this company too. They will dangle opportunities for advancement in front of you, only to save face and bring their friends from other companies. They'll proceed to tell you what a wonderful job you're doing and that you are their family, and then blindside you out of left field with a lay off or write up.
The hotels that are being brought into this company are heavily extended stay properties with occupancy issues (Woodspring Suites, Everhome, ESA). Majority of these properties are third part management, so you will have to deal with ownership on weekly basis.
