Pros

None. It's a job, not a career. There is an understanding; you pretend to work and they pretend to pay you.

Cons

They just eliminated the best thing they had going for themselves, job security. Recent humiliating layoffs, lost both the pension and tuition reimbursement plans. Top down mismanagement. HR doesn't even pretend to be on your side. No advancement for you unless you play golf. Loyalty is not rewarded.

Pros

Good profit sharing plan Good people on the lower levels

Cons

Schneider changed the pay structure, prior I was compensated for being on call 24/7 365 by being paid OT outside of normal business hours. They took away the overtime but still expected the same time commitments. Then denied flat out that they had adversely affected our compensation. This cause over 50% of the field service group to quit. They also do not give any substantial raises, the only way to make more here is change jobs and make them bleed when you come back. They expect 70% travel for $65k a year.

Pros

Vacation time is industry average.

Cons

They hire from outside rather than promoting within. Pay is sub industry standard. Duplicitous company line- they say one thing and do another. Cost of living increase was 2%which is insulting for a billion dollar company. This was a great company that has been around since 1888. The new parent company (Schneider Electric) is dismantling it one ridiculous policy at a time.
