Pros

An hour-long lunch break, weekly pay

Cons

The company handles customer service for a variety of companies...and not all of them care about their integrity. Several companies we took calls for received their business by baiting and switching on customers, used fine-print agreements, and additional charges that were easy to accidentally click on if you didn't know ahead of time of the pitfalls to watch out for on their websites. These led to lots of calls from angry customers and yet we were also meant to be retention agents and keep the customer from leaving. How are we supposed to advocate for a company when it earns its sales by cheap tricks? So many customers informed we should be ashamed of ourselves, and I absolutely was. Additionally, we had to take political calls starting September and all through October. When I politely informed I did not support the beliefs of a candidate, they made it clear that you either play ball or you will be fired, to just treat it as "just a job". Anything dealing with politics is not "just a job", it has real-world effects and I didn't appreciate this not being disclosed clearly in the job description beyond a general "complete other duties as assigned" type of phrasing. I quit back in early 2020 when the company wanted us to return back into the office when there wasn't even a vaccine yet for the virus. The building is way too small for effective social distancing. The company begged us to refer more people, but the pay is very low compared to other call centers in the area. I can work from the comfort of my home and make much more, and given everything I just outlined, I would not recommend someone I care about to work here.
