Cons

You can be fired because of "wrong" question to a manager. Today I got fired because of asking question about working hours. The official reason was "Because of your attitude to your job". This morning one of the managers sent an email to the whole department - "some of you guys are coming to the office at 10am and going home at 18:00. It's clearly stated in your working contract that you have to work 9 hours including 1h of lunch time". I decided to check my contract and found out that there is no such statement. The only rule was "40 hours per week". I decided to ask him in a peer-to-peer email about the workday duration and what if I spend less than 1 hour for a lunch break. He didn't answer, but a few hours later I was notified that my probation period was failed. The reason is "your attitude". HR didn't answer what does she mean exactly and who decided that my attitude is inproper. So thinks twice before asking such questions. By the way: i was working these 8 hours per day and I was never late without notifying my team lead. And they can prove it by the event log of my pc - system wakeups are tracked; Also, I do believe that one of them could come over and talk to me when something was "terrably wrong with my attitude" instead of firing me right away. P.S. Do they really think that productivity of an engineer depends on working hours?
