      Great Company in the Oil/Gas supply/rep field

      Started in warehouse and i left as a inside sales/acct manager

      Pros

      Great enviornment and great growth possibilities and chance for promotions within. Management was amazing. Felt like a work family. Also if weather was bad or flooding they would have calls auto t'frd to your cell phone and let you work from home. Which was great and never worked for a company that allowed that. I hated leaving AWC but a job opportunity came that I couldn't pass up. My supervisor, she tried to match my new jobs offer but it was almost 45% raise and a company truck. I really enjoyed being employed there and still talk to/hang out with old co-workers. Another big pro was quarterly bonuses and even the warehouse folks would get them.

      Cons

      Traffic was the only thing that made my day bad there and that is unavoidable really.

      Good Benefits, Troubling Office Environment

      Pros

      Division I worked in a had a great team atmosphere; focused on individual success as part of group success; benefits and compensation were great

      Cons

      From what I heard, other divisions had a much more "every man for himself" mentality; it is the oil and gas industry, so large lay offs happen when the market is down; manager at my division is racists, he would say something racially insensitive and no one questioned or challenged him.

      Pros

      Good reputation as an industrial equipment rep company in the Southern U.S. Private owner (deceased) was well respected and took great pride in his company and employees.

      Cons

      Recent acquisition of Florida rep company Valve & Controls led AWC astray and hurt their reputation (and their pocketbook)! Numerous name brand product lines were lost as a result!
