Pros

You learn how to multi-task. If you’re never absent and do 150% at your job, your managers do notice and promote you. They give you a free meal once a month. They try and promote a balanced, fun and accepting work culture.

Cons

Emotional demanding job. No work schedule flexibility. False positivity. Weird and/or mean clients and customers. You have to stick to a script and you have to use a weird voice. You have to ask to use the restroom because you’re always on calls, it’s near impossible to leave your seat. No windows at the Rainbow office. Management is a bit fake. People constantly quit so you’re forever picking up the slack or doing the job of three receptionists. Your work schedule constantly changes as well as your break and lunch times. They try to butter you up during training - the first two weeks are cake. During the third week of a five week training, the nature of the job changes drastically. That’s where a lot of my training class quit. Not a good job if you have anxiety.

Abby Connect Response

Hi there! Thank you so much for your input. We definitely take into consideration everyone's experience with Abby to help improve our new hire experience. We are sorry that you didn't have the best experience with our company, and are saddened to hear this. As for our five-week training period, it is designed to start each person off at a slower pace to learn the foundation, and to build on that foundation week by week. We do have multiples being taught later on in training as it is important to have solid call handling habits on one call before asking trainees to take multiple calls at once. After training, our Receptionist Development Leaders are focused on helping you perfect the skills you learn in training. Their goal is to see every receptionist succeed. Regarding tone, yes. we teach our receptionists to maintain the brand and quality that we are known for. It's important for us that each receptionist sounds friendly and energetic on calls to provide a great experience to our callers. This is the main reason we play a demo call during the hiring process, to showcase the tone of voice we expect on calls. We try to be as transparent as possible during the hiring process and follow up interview about the fast paced nature of the role and the tone of voice that is required. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback!
