A Demoralising Experience – Toxic Management and Zero Recognition

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Abri. Like many others have said, the management culture is toxic and deeply rooted in favouritism. There’s no sense of transparency you are constantly the last to find out about major changes that directly affect your role or team. Communication is poor across the board, and decisions are often made behind closed doors with no explanation or inclusion. Despite putting in extra hours, including working outside of normal office times to meet deadlines, there’s absolutely no recognition for hard work or commitment. Instead, praise and opportunities are handed out based on who you know, not what you do. It feels demoralising and disheartening when you’re trying to do your best but are overlooked and undervalued. There’s also a real lack of professional development and support. Concerns raised are ignored or brushed aside, and constructive feedback is rarely welcomed. Morale among staff is low, and the environment breeds distrust and burnout. Overall, just an awful and disheartening experience. I would not recommend Abri to anyone looking for a fair, respectful, or growth-oriented workplace.

Pros

Salary is reasonable, not great & certainly not fair across the company

Cons

The company has deteriorated in last few years, both as a place to work & from a customer service viewpoint. Too many invented senior management jobs created for very unqualified people. Staff are frightened to be honest about how unhappy they are, for fear of repercussions. Very much if you are "in" with the right people you fare well, if you speak up with constructive ideas you are suppressed

Good people within the company. Free hot and cold beverages

Cons

If your face doesn't fit then you've got no luck. Very manipulative, must be who they want you to be, no personal touch. Poor management. No opportunities. No chance to develop or move in to another role.
