Pros

All associate staff are suffering together, no one is left out in their suffering

Cons

No enough pay for how much work they push onto you, bare minimum vacation days, strict 9AM - 6PM, in office everyday, extremely Korean values (the CEO still makes you bow and greet him when he comes into the office)

Pros

I went in reading these reviews and thinking I would be excluded by the Korean culture, and while this was true of the larger company and upper management due to language barrier, the PO team that sat next to me did a lot to make me feel included, even though I was not their team member. They were sweet and nice people.

Cons

I quit. Shady company with incompetent management. All 5 days in office from 9-6, and the office is visually unpleasant and roach infested. It’s not even productive, as all communication is done on personal text. If you don’t speak Korean you will not be able to grow, since upper management doesn’t speak English, and this was not clarified in the interview process. In the 4 months I was there, 3 others quit before me. One joined and left within a week. The company doesn’t care about work, only arbitrary rules. If you come in 5-10 minutes late some days they will never let it go, even if you come in early other days. I drove in from an hour away but they still didn’t let up. They started blatantly accusing me of leaving early even though there is a physically scanned time card that proved I’d never left before 6 even once. 10 minute walks were also an issue, while others took 20 minute smoke break. Looking at your phone was also an issue- even if you’re a social media designer who needs your phone to work. If you’re a serious designer applying for a digital design position, you’d rather not. Lead digital designer’s extent of expertise starts and ends with Canva, and management experience is non-existent. Work created by the Lead was posted with blatant mistakes multiple times. When I asked what happened in one case, they said they didn’t know how to fix their own mistakes so they posted it as-is. But the fixes were easy. Sharing my input and experience on how we could improve lead to the commonly racist comments toward my demographic about being argumentative and difficult. That’s when I quit. Despite the issues, my work was constantly praised by my manager, because it was well done and always on time, and I even offered to work on a weekend when I didn't need to, just to help us get ahead. But the work didn’t matter here. Management does not want good work, they just want conformity and ‘yes sir’s. And that is why, even though I worked in beauty for years, I had never heard of this company before and probably never will again.
