Pros
The families and the kids are adorable. The project is very nature-guided. They payed for public transport, German courses and professional development.
Cons
Everything was hell there. It was like working in a dictatorship. The Principal would treat everyone with disrespect, and take advantage of her position to put down every pedagogue. The company AcadeMedia kept adding more and more extra responsibilities to the pedagogues to the point that one in each class was never with the kids. In the year I worked there, 9 out of the 14 pedagogues on staff left, most of them in stressful situations because of the Principal and the company rules that reinforced the mistreatment of all the workers in the school. The worst part was that the company, AcadeMedia, was informed several times and they supported the psychological abuse, and even fired people when they were on mental breakdown leave due to the abusive treatment and extreme stress received in the school. They couldn´t care less about the bilingualism or the diversity in the school. It is just an excuse to gain clients. At one point the principal even tried to forbid the Spanish pedagogues from speaking Spanish to each other. There is a big culture of mistrust. Pedagogues have no freedom to do as they think is better for their children. There is always intensive supervision and criticism by the part of the principals, that always think they know better than the pedagogues they hired, as if they didn´t trust them. Even with small things like where to hang a birthday chart or what color to use for some activities. They had a beautiful project in their hands that was totally destroyed by the toxic environment.
