Horrible Environment

Pros

The employees, below management level, are intelligent, hard-working and kind. Acadia clearly has a template they use to determine who to hire because most are superior employees.

Cons

The management team is mean-spirited, untrustworthy, cruel at times, full of false promises, and mostly unaware of how to handle employees and how to successfully operate in the business. Staff turnover is abnormally high because of the treatment received at the hands of management. Salaries are lower than average and benefits are marginally acceptable. Good luck trying to take vacation time without repercussions. Expectations is that this job is your entire life, including mandatory contact during vacations and late night calls to discuss business. If you get on the bad side of management, they will stop at nothing to skewer you to the wall. Highly undesirable workplace.

Pros

The people are great, and this contributes to a fantastic corporate culture. Management is personable, relatable, and provide good mentoring.

Cons

The pay may be slightly under the going rate compared to other similar positions, and depending on the department/position, working remotely can be a challenge

Pros

-Great people -Very friendly -Great internal community culture -Executives and senior level management are engaging and know most on first name basis -Good work/life balance -Fun company outings, internal parties -Good place to cruise control into retirement

Cons

-Lack of upward mobility -Below average pay (might have to do with region) -Overall, leadership is engaged and friendly but there are some mid-level management issues -Company not high on taking risks on people, doesn't recognize and develop talent well -Underwriting philosophy progressed toward "defensive/protectionist" in three years I was there -Not great for career development -Ultimately left after two plus years in entry level position, gave my best to the company but lacked opportunity for growth. More than doubled my pay five months after leaving (different company/different state).
